LO1 - Game analysis form - Star Wars Republic Commando


The style of Star wars republic commando is a SCI-FI game. The genre of Star wars republic commando, it shows conventions of this genre as the game is played from the perspective of the playable character. Compared to other FPS games such as call of duty and battlefield it fits in well and is fun to play. 

The story is that you follow an elite squad of clone troopers known as delta squad as they undertake many missions throughout the clone wars. The gameplay informs the story as it can determine what needs to be done in the game world. The story connects to the target audience as it is very action packed and features many memorable missions and characters.

This game was developed by Lucas arts on the unreal engine. Elements of production can be seen in the final product. As there are features such as a cover based system and smart A.I for your squad members so while you are playing the game the squad feels authentic and act, as real soldiers would do. 


The challenge in the game is the enemies that are present, due to the fact that you have 3 A.I squad members with you the enemies are difficult to take down and require you to utilise your entire squads specific traits. The most difficult parts of the game are when your squad are not present and you are on your own. 


The target audience would be Star Wars and FPS fans as this game delivers on these two fronts and offers a lot of star wars nostalgia for fans to enjoy, but seen through a unique perspective. 


This game was available on PC and the Xbox. The game feels fluid on both platforms but the use of a controller does make the controls feel more fluid and easier to control.
